Our mission is to give back to the Ocean, by helping to protect clean water, wildlife, and our beaches. We are fostering community that is willing to make changes in order to leave behind an Ocean that is clean and safe enough for the next generation to enjoy.

Human activity over the last half century has left our Ocean, it's creatures, and our future in dire straits. Its time to start changing our ways.
We believe that if we all start now by changing the things that we do, buy, and talk about, than we can make a difference.
Together, we are removing dangerous and unsightly debris from our coastlines and waterways, and raising public awareness on important issues like plastic pollution, sea level rise, and storm water runoff pollution.
We invite you to join a community of proactive individuals centered around protecting our beloved coastlines and watersheds!

Sometimes it seems that people are content to wallow in thier own filth; that the world is their trash can... We invite you to challenge that notion. Help us call attention to this issue and clean up after the "adult babies" that leave their trash on the beach.
As the sea level rises we will see more leach fields failing and raw sewage spilling into the Ocean, and groundwater. Many Gulf communities are already dealing with toxic red tide algea blooms as a result of poor storm water run-off and sewage infrasrtucture.
We are losing over 6ft of beach per year in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. That is set to accelerate as the sea level rises.
With the natural island building cycle broken by a hardened Highway 12, the beaches here have been swept away at an alarming rate. This proposes an unsustainable predicament for local residents faced with expensive and perpetual beach replenishment projects.
We are expecting sea level rise between 1-2 feet in the Atlantic ocean over the next 30 years. It may not sound like much to some, but many costal communities will see massive property loss.
Change is expensive, difficult, scary, even painful. It's no suprise people often just leave things the way they are, but that's no way to survive in a changing world. Its past time we update our strategies, our communities, to meet the needs of the not-so-distant future.
The most dangerous idea facing humanity is idea that someone or something will come along and save us from ourselves.
There is no magic bullet, the proplems are too big for one solution, it will take each one of us to save the world.

We organize Beach Clean Up Events along North Carolina's East Cost, and in North West Puerto Rico. We are building a community centered around protecting our beloved coastlines and watersheds!
Volunteers harvest dangerous metallic debris submerged along our coastline, creeks, and canals. Anyone can do it, just get a rope and a magnet and go see what you can find!
Recycling doesn’t have to happen in some far-off factory, we can make useful products right here on the beach!
We make things like surfboard fins, hair combs, carabiners and lumber out of recovered plastics.
With you help, SeeChange is creating a circular plastic economy in our community!
We help monitor water quality along the Outer Banks of North Carolina, Currituck Sound, Watauga River, New River, Watauga Lake, and in NW Puerto Rico.
Our Oyster population is dwindling because we don't return the shells to the water.
SeeChange Atlantic collects Oyster Shells from Beaufort to Boone, and returns them to the water, providing the necessary habitat for Oyster larvae to attach and grow. This means more Oysters to filter the water, to provide much needed protection from erosion, storm surges, and sea-level rise, and yes, more Oysters to eat!
Our volunteers work on projects to fortify our shorelines the natural way. Living Shorelines are far more effective at preventing property loss from erosion and storm surge than "Traditional" bulkheads. They are also more cost effective to install, and support aquatic biodiversity. Mother Nature already has the solutions, we just need to pay attention!
Native Plants not only help our pollenators thirve, but can simultaneously mitigate stormwater runoff problems by slowing, filtering and absorbing the runoff from heavy rains before it reaches our waterways! SeeChange Atlantic works with homeowners and businesess across the state to plant gardens that mitigate pollution from stormwater runoff.
We want to share our love of surfing, the ocean, and conservation with as many people as possible. This is an outreach program aimed at expanding the surfing community in urban settings, and providing a mode of fun and rehabilitation for veterans suffering from PTSD, people recovering from substance abuse, and those with mental disabilities.
We have an ISA certified arborist crew of volunteers for storm damage relief, and equipment to respond to houses falling into the ocean.
We might be a little covered up,
but someone will get back with you soon!
